Children, Youth and Families
Our Children, Youth and Families Ministry consists of a vast area of activities and is led by our appointed Youth Pastor (Ben Barnes).
As we aim at reaching all age groups, we run various sessions on a regular basis to ensure everyone has great fun according to their age, whilst learning more about Jesus and meeting with Him.
We want to make sure every child can be themselves in a safe and welcoming environment. Our children's workers are appointed through interview only, are DBS checked and have first aid and safeguarding training.
We believe that children and young people are not just the church of tomorrow, but the church of today and so our ministry with them is one of our highest priorities here at St Paul’s.
The good news that Jesus came to share is the best news we could ever possibly hear. That through his life, death and resurrection, Jesus offers us life in all its fullness and completeness; a relationship with our Heavenly Father as it was always intended to be. Therefore, in everything we do we want the children and young people to hear and understand this and know that Jesus has a plan and a purpose for each of their lives.
We yearn to see a generation of children and young people hear this news for themselves and discover the incredible adventure that Jesus has in store for them, to live it out in their everyday lives, and to invite others to join the adventure too!
This is a radical, holistic, self-sacrificial, Jesus-centred way of life that is defined by extravagant love for God, others and self. Our faith is the very lens through which we see all of our life, affecting what we say, do, and think. We want to strive to become better Christ-like disciples; to discover and grow into our full potential and day by day pursue a deeper relationship with Jesus.
This vision forms the DNA of all of our groups which are age-appropriate safe places to explore faith and the big questions of life, to wrestle and doubt and to learn and journey together. We care for the whole person; the emotional, spiritual, psychological, and physical.
We believe that God is on the move in Camberley and Surrey Heath and the best part is that He invites us to join the adventure, but the question is, will you join the adventure of a lifetime?
We strive to achieve the above vision through a program of Sunday and midweek groups.
All our leaders are DBS checked and have gone through a thorough recruitment process including safeguarding and first aid training. For more information on our Safeguarding policies and procedures, please click here
► During a Sunday service
(all our children and young people’s provision runs during the 10:30 service
): For the first 15 minutes or so children and young people will usually stay in the service as we worship together as a church family in a relevant and accessible way. The leader of the service will announce when it is time for the children to go off to their age-appropriate groups where there will be times of worship, biblical teaching, prayer, community and of course fun!
Your children and young people will be split into groups depending on their age and/or school year but don’t worry you will be shown where to go!

► Midweek groups
. Our toddler group operates during term-time on Thursdays from 10.15am to 11.30am. You can expect a friendly and welcoming environment for children aged 0 to 3. We will have a variety of crafts and activities, story time, and plenty of songs for them to sing and dance along to!
All children will have to be accompanied by an adult carer e.g. parent, grandparent, au-pair, child minder etc. The carer is expected to supervise their child whilst chatting with others over a cup of tea or coffee.
Cover charge of £1 applies.
. is aimed at 0-5s and their carers! It starts every Wednesday during term time at 10am until 11.30pm in the church with some action songs, a Bible story, a prayer candle, puppet and instruments, followed by a time for parents to chat over refreshments while their children play with toys. There are lots of flyers at church so do grab a pile from Bethany to give to those you know with little ones. Whilst the parents stay to watch their children, we always need some people to go on the rota to help with sign-in and serving teas and coffees.

Our youth group runs on a Friday night from 7pm to 9pm during term-time and is open to all young people in secondary school/college aged 11-18. After a long week at school come and chill out with a variety of activities including sports, crafts, games consoles, table tennis, pool, board and card games and space to just hang out and chat. There’s no charge to attend but we do have a tuck shop on the night so bring your pocket money with you.
Whatever you’re into there’s something for everyone. Come and hang out, have fun, meet friends and even make new ones!
The POINT is our monthly youth service run in partnership with other youth groups across Camberley. We gather together to explore some of the big questions of faith and life, to have fun (there's usually some big messy ice-breaker game), and to grow in our relationship with Jesus and one another.
The POINT is held at St. Paul's from 7 pm - 9 pm usually on the second Friday of the month unless school holidays get in the way and is completely free. There will usually be a café time where the young people can hang out and socialise together, there will be food and drinks (don't miss out on the milkshakes and smoothies!), a big messy ice breaker game, a short talk and discussion, worship led by a live band, and a time to reflect and pray together. Anyone in secondary school is welcome to join us!
Twitch Gaming Stream.
If you’re a young person and you love gaming then come and join us on Friday afternoons on Twitch (hyperlink to our twitch page) from 4:00 pm-5:30 pm. You can drop-in at any time for as long or as little as you like. You can come and watch the stream, hang out with us for a chat (we’ll be thinking about a relevant topic/thought for the week each time), share your best tips and tricks for better gameplay to help us improve (we need all the help we can get!) and even come and join our squad and play with us! We will be streaming from 4 pm to 5 pm and then the young people can join us for half an hour until 5:30 pm.
